Burn Wound Reconstruction

Each burn is such a unique and individual case to work on. The reason is that the tissue has healed in an extremely speedy way to “save” the area from trauma as quickly as possible. However in this process instead of the tissue forming the correct “basket weave” it now speeds up and creates a rope weave effect giving a burn wound an angry string-like appearance. In our procedures, we gently break down and collapse the tightness of the rope scar creating an area to relax and giving a lot more flexibility to the area. With that said depending on the wound we might do a pigmentation Extraction Procedure to eliminate any excess melanin production which happens when the human body overcompensates for the inflicted area of trauma.
